The Art of Preserving Nature
At Retro Cellars, caring for the land is more than a mission—it’s a way of life. Our commitment to sustainable farming allows us to work in harmony with the rhythms of Napa Valley’s vineyards. Practices like hedgerow planting, composting, and carbon sequestration help us reduce our environmental impact and protect the ecosystem around us.
Hedgerow planting, for example, creates corridors of biodiversity by attracting bees, owls, and ladybugs—natural pollinators and pest controllers. Meanwhile, grazing sheep roam our vineyards in spring, providing natural fertilizer and improving soil health without chemical inputs. Our carbon sequestration methods—like no-till farming and composting—lock CO₂ into the soil, making our operations climate-friendly.
From owl boxes supporting local wildlife to using solar power to reduce our carbon footprint, sustainability is woven into every step of our winemaking process. At Retro Cellars, we believe great wine comes from healthy vineyards, and our goal is to ensure this land thrives for future generations.
